Members,

    Ernie Robert, a member of our club, donated a heavy duty fire extinguisher to help safeguard against any fires at our flying site. It lasted two weeks and someone stole it. I was also asked recently why we don't have any first aid kits at the field. I believe the reason we don't is obvious from my opening sentence. I would suggest very strongly that all members should have a first aid kit and fire extinguisher available to them included in their field supplies. A first aid kit can be carried in your car and a fire extinguisher can be mounted to your field box

Our practice field, supervised by Lance Murphy, is working out very well. I stopped there on Friday 06/18/2010 to inspect the area and the field is in excellent shape. Remember it is only open when Lance Murphy or Steve Swahn can supervise the area. Again, it is available only for radios on 2.4GHz. Lance or Steve will tell you where to fuel and start your engines. The rules at both field will be consistently enforced.

The flying stations are working out very well. On Tuesday morning 06.15.2010 there were about twelve (12) members at the field and all flying stations were full with four (4) airplanes in the air at one time as per our rules. It was a great sight to see(check out the picture of this event on the home page of our web site at www.wbrcflyingclub.org). I am usually at the field every morning including Sunday. Please come on down and fly with me.

Remember the club picnic is August 28, 2010 (Saturday) with August 29, 2010 (Sunday) as the rain date. We will need ice and coolers. Also feel free to bring your favorite dish to share with members. There is a whole day of flying from 8:00 AM to ?. How good can it get. I need cooks, setup people and a clean up crew. There will be a 50/50 raffle, free membership drawing and door prizes. This event is open to only WRCFC members and their immediate family. Please make plans to join us.

There will be an Advisory Board Meeting at 10:00 AM at the field the day of the picnic.
